8 steps to creating your sex worker or escort website

What goes into creating your sex worker website

When you choose your sex worker or escort web designer, you need to know that they qualified in web design, understand the industry and have a smooth process in place. They need to have a creative mind and be innovational in their approach.

Let’s start at the beginning.

Our process takes 8 weeks to complete

8 weeks? Yes, you’ve been thinking about your website for months now, haven’t you? Anyone who promising you a website within one month won’t be delivering a quality, fully functional WordPress adult website. 

You need to be aware, however, it’s only WHEN you provide the necessary images and text that is required to complete the job within those 8 weeks. If you want more than the standard custom 5 page website, the timeframe will increase when you add additional or more complex features such as:

  • Gallery
  • Wishlist
  • Newsletter
  • Blog
  • Membership/VIP 
  • Advanced performance and speed optimisations  
  • Video and Image hosting with Amazon S3/Digital Ocean Spaces (recommended for adult content/membership sites)

Once you’ve sent an initial enquiry through the website or booked a web consult via the contact page on the website, my team will organise a Zoom meeting for us to discuss what you’re after further.

When we’ve nutted out how many pages you want, a quote will be sent to you to approve and sign. When you’ve signed the agreement and a 25% deposit is received, we can get started!

Then the fun starts:

  1. You’ll receive an onboarding Zoom meeting request or a form to complete
  2. A development start date will be scheduled
  3. You provide written copy and images
  4. When your domain plus your sex worker-friendly and FOSTA/SESTA safe hosting is set up (check out our partner hosts), we create a simple  ‘Coming Soon’ page to your site for visitors.

If you don’t have your content already prepared we can refer you to your own dedicated copywriter to ensure that your content is written with SEO principles applied, and best describes you and your business [extra costs involved].

As well, Bumbershoot Creative have an inhouse, highly skilled photographer and videographer that can create brand new images for you to have a fresh start to your new baby [extra costs involved].

Week 1 – Colour Palette Approval

Three colour palettes will be generated for you to choose from. Slight revisions can be made if there’s something that doesn’t sit right with you.

You then approve* by a simple message in a return email so we’ve got the right colour palette you love.

Weeks 2 & 3 – Stylesheet and Font Approval

Now it’s time to get the font you like and the stylesheet sorted.

We will suggest fonts that suit your brand and create a stylesheet that has things like the width size of a single web page and what you want in your menu.

A demo of the main menu, headings, body, button, divider and other key standard style elements is created so that you can see how it will look with your final font sizes and colours included. We can also demonstrate how the elements will behave on desktop or mobile devices. 

At this point, you can request one revision of the stylesheet if necessary and then again you will approve and sign-off this part of the process.

Weeks 4 & 5 – Home & Contact page designs

Perhaps the most important page is the Home Page. This is the first place your clients come to. The Contact Page can be the next most important – after all your would-be clients need to know how to contact you.

Once the Home Page layout has been created it will be sent to you for approval. If you want any changes to the layout or the design of the Home Page or the Contact Page this is when revisions need to be made.

Again you will then approve and sign off the final layout.

Week 6 – Creation of additional pages

Now comes the exciting part, the additional pages will be created with one repeatable design for the remaining pages.

When you review this bit, you can ask for revisions to the general page layout and swap any images that you’re not sure about.

And you guessed it, another approval and sign off via email.

Week 7 – Testing and  Final Development 

Now that the content and the images are all added, it’s time for checking and testing all the elements that have been created.

The things we check are:

  1. Making sure that the contact form works properly and goes to your selected email account. 
  2. Checking that the social media links are correct
  3. Ensuring that the security plugins are functioning properly
  4. Making sure your website’s SSL certificate is working properly. This means all of your pages are running HTTPS and it’s secure for your visitors to browse your site plus anti-spam functionality 
  5. Connecting Google Analytics directly to your WordPress dashboard, so that you can see all of your visitor stats in one place
  6. Performance testing to make sure that all of your pages are loading quickly for your visitors
  7. That we have set up an 18+ entry disclaimer or other landing pages to warn your visitors about adult content (if required for your site)

Tip or Hint: Make sure that you and your web designer have open channels of communication so that you are both on the same page.

Week 8 – Approval & Sign-off

 We’re nearly there! All that’s left to do is for you to pay the remaining balance and you will be given a comprehensive document that lists the WordPress website and email logins as well as a handover document of how it all works. You’ll also get access to our Bumbershoot Creative Wiki launching early 2021.
